| How To Add Links To Your Lemonrock Pages | |
Q1. What are Lemonrock links?
A. Lemonrock links give everyone more information about the connections between bands, artists, venues and shops/studios on Lemonrock. Links that you create appear in your 'My Network' menu.
Q2. What are the benefits of Lemonrock links?
A. You can use Lemonrock links to show other bands that you are in (or have been in), or bands that you rate, venues you are connected with, studios where you have recorded, and shops or studios you know.
Your links show up in 'My Network', the menu on the left side of every Lemonrock page.
In addition, anyone who adds you to their links, or to their favourites, can see your links in their own 'My Network' menu.
'My Network' is a great way of seeing who is connected with who, and can show you what's new on any of the pages that you link to.
Q3. How do I add a link to my page?
A. First, login to Lemonrock. Then, go to the page you want to link to, and click on the button near the top of the page. This will automatically fill in some of the details of the new link for you. Alternatively, you can type the name of the band/artist, venue, or business directly in to a new link record - go to your edit page and click on 'my links'. Or, just select 'create... new link' from the Quick Menu.
Q4. Can I link to anyone on Lemonrock?
A. Yes, you can include a link on your band/artist or venue page to any other band/artist, venue or shop/studio/business on Lemonrock.
Please write something interesting about each of your links - the idea is to explain why you are linking to someone else, giving the public a deeper insight into your world.
Q5. How many links can I add?
A. You can add up to 30 links to your page - and mix artists, bands, venues and shops/studios/businesses as you wish.
Q6. How do people know that I am linking to their pages?
A. Bands, artists and venues can see who's linking to their pages by going to their 'my links' section when they login. You'll see a list of all other pages that are linking to you. Clicking any item in the list takes you to that band/artist or venue page.
Q7. Do the bands/artists and venues that I link to have to link back to me?
A. No, it is up to them whether they link back or not. They may not know you, may not have enough room, or may not think that it is relevant to add you to their page.
Q8. Can I determine the order that the links are shown on my page?
A. Yes, just set the 'Show order' number for each link. The higher the number, the further up your page it will appear.
Q9. Can I prevent people linking to my page?
A. Yes. If a band or venue links to your page, you can block the link, so that it will not show on their page. In your 'my links' section, simply click on the 'block' link for anyone who is linking to you.
Q10. Can I include photos of the people and places I'm linking to?
A. No, it is up to bands, artists, venues and shops/studios/businesses to post their own photographs. Your link will show a thumbnail (reduced image) of their main photo on Lemonrock, if they have one.
Q11. Who can create links?
A. Currently, bands, artists and venues can create links. Music Lover members and Service members do not have this facility.
Q12. Why can't I create a link for a band/artist?
A. Only Band/Artist Members can create links from their pages. If you are a Venue/Promoter Member with both venue and band/artist pages on Lemonrock, you can only create links from your venue pages.
Q13. Why can't I create a link for a venue?
A. Only Venue/Promoter Members can create links from their pages. If you are a Band/Artist Member with both band/artist and venue pages on Lemonrock, you can only create links from your band/artist pages.
Q14. The links on the band/artist pages are way down the page. Is there a quicker way to see them?
A. Yes - all bands and artists on Lemonrock can be viewed as 'mini-sites' - select the option from the 'band/artists' menu option, and check the 'Show pages as mini sites' box. Each band and artist page turns into a quick-to-navigate mini site with its own menu. Just click on 'links' in the mini site menus to see all the band/artist's links.
