Q1. What is Lemonrock Wiki?
A. Lemonrock Wiki is a system that enables Lemonrock members to update (edit) neglected venue and band pages.
Q2. What are the benefits of Lemonrock Wiki?
A. There are many pages on Lemonrock that could be more useful - venue pages with missing or incorrect telephone numbers, addresses, contact details and so on. When a venue or band page has expired, Lemonrock opens the page up to any member to edit. This gives everyone a much better web site, with better accuracy and more information.
Q3. I've got band and venue pages on Lemonrock. Can anyone edit my pages using this Wiki?
A. Only pages that are no longer maintained by members can be edited by Lemonrock Wiki. If your membership is paid-up, or expired less than 3 weeks ago, no-one else will be able to update your pages.
Q4. Can I edit anyone's band or venue page?
A. No - you can only edit band and venue pages that were created by someone whose membership has expired.
Q5. Can I change the name of a venue or band?
A. No - you can only edit the band or venue information. Only band and venue members can create or rename their own bands and venues. This also applies to the page tags.
Q6. Can I add gigs using Lemonrock Wiki?
A. No - you can only update the band or venue details.
Q7. Can I create new bands and venues using Lemonrock Wiki?
A. No - you can only update existing bands and venues.
Q8. How many band/artist or venue pages can I edit?
A. You can edit as many pages as you like. Your changes are logged in our database, so you can't break anything. However, we ask you to be helpful and constructive when you edit pages. Deleting or altering accurate information may result in your membership being suspended, so please be careful. The Wiki gives you power, but you must be responsible with this power.
Q9. Can I add a photo to a band/artist or venue page?
A. Yes, but please check that the photo is a) relevant and b) available for re-publication on this site.
Q10. Can I set a venue's map location?
A. No - only the owner of a venue page can set the map location. This is simply a case of logging in and dragging the red marker on the Google map.
Q11. I'm a Music Lover member - can I edit band/artist or venue pages?
A. Yes. All Lemonrock members are allowed to edit neglected pages. However, see the note above regarding responsible editing.
Q12. How do I know which band/artist or venue pages are neglected?
A. If you see a venue or band page that says 'page is not maintained' or 'page is no longer maintained', you'll also see a Wiki link to edit the page. Look at the bottom of the band or venue page where the date stamps are shown.
Q13. Help - someone else keeps undoing my edits!
A. There may be times when you edit a page in good faith, only to find that it has reverted to a previous version, or the information that you added has changed. This could be due to someone more knowledgeable than you editing the page. If you know the person whose band or venue is represented on the page, please let them know that they have a page on Lemonrock that they could maintain themselves. Lemonrock is easy to use, and reaches thousands of people every day!
Q14. I have some venue pages or band/artist pages on Lemonrock that I no longer want to maintain. What should I do?
A. If you are certain that a venue or band page is no longer of interest to you, you can disown it and release it back to the Lemonrock Wiki pool, so that it can be edited by other Lemonrock members. Once you have done this, you will only have the same power to edit the page as any other member - the page will no longer be in 'your' list of venues or bands.
Important: please read carefully: In addition, if you are a Venue/Promoter member and you disown (give up) a venue page, you will only be able to create gigs at the venue for your own bands and artists (not for bands/artists that are not yours). Likewise, if you are a Band/Artist member and you disown (give up) a band/artist page, you will only be able to create gigs for this band/artist at your own venues (not at venues that are not yours).
